Job Summary

Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machine Operator Level II to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for operating and setting up various machines to produce high-quality tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of machinery, including mills, grinders, and CNC machines, to fabricate component parts.
  • Perform routine set-ups and wheel changeovers on equipment to ensure precise tolerances.
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment, making adjustments as needed to meet quality and quantity requirements.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of components and finished tools to evaluate quality and performance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of related machine operation experience.
  • Ability to operate a variety of machine tools and understand set-up instructions.
  • Intermediate machine operation and mechanical knowledge, including ability to set up and change over various types of equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems.
  • Ability to effectively utilize basic shop math skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, speak, and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret technical manuals and work instructions.

Working Conditions

The employee will frequently sit, use hands to handle, grasp, or keyboard, and talk and hear. The employee occasionally stands or walks, climbs, stoops or crouches, and pushes/pulls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
