Job Title: Principal/Senior Principal Systems Engineer Signal Processing

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Senior Principal Systems Engineer Signal Processing to join our team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. As a key member of our Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team, you will be responsible for developing and fielding advanced signal processing algorithms and system performance models within the Multifunction RF space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and model signal processing algorithms to implement and support various modes, such as long-range search and track Radar waveforms and electronic surveillance measure returns.
  • Develop parametric representations, visualizations, and data-driven analysis to support sensor requirements definition and use case validation.
  • Support the integration of sensor modes and trackers from digital simulation environments to sensor labs to our on-site fleet of specially modified test aircraft.
  • Engage with customers to balance their functional and performance requirements with other sensor functionality to enable true multi-function operation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, or related technical curriculum) with at least 5 years of related experience, or 3 years related experience with a Master's Degree.
  • Experience with developing Radar/RF signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience with developing system level performance models in MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes; and effective communication skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A current/active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Master's Degree or PhD in a STEM discipline including electives in radar techniques and signal processing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior leadership, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team leadership experience with development and/or production program execution.
