Job Overview

This role is part of our Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface, furthering our mission of having millions of people living and working in space.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead engineering activities including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Hazard Reports, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability analysis, and developing mitigation plans.
  • Develop plans and coordinate completion of system and subsystem safety analysis, providing review, guidance, and expertise of safety analysis products.
  • Ensure traceability between system and subsystem functions, requirements, and safety artifacts.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience performing activities such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with performing safety analyses including one of the following: Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Hazard Reports, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA), reliability analysis, and mitigation plans.
