Restaurant Operations Manager

Job Overview
As a key member of the Reid's Fine Foods team, the Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our wine bar. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, this individual will oversee the day-to-day functions of the restaurant area, schedule staff, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Develop a positive and inclusive team culture, demonstrating leadership skills and promoting a collaborative work environment.
• Communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management, ensuring seamless service delivery and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Treat all team members with fairness and respect, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness, able to lift 25lbs or more and stand/walk for 8 or more hours per shift.
• Greet customers, acknowledge their needs, and ensure their satisfaction.
• Build, coach, manage, and develop a high-performing team, driving sales growth and customer loyalty.
• Open and close the restaurant properly, following checklists and ensuring a smooth transition between shifts.
• Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
• Understand and consistently comply with Reid's Fine Foods policies and procedures.
• Communicate performance issues, complaints, and devise a plan of action to resolve issues with the Restaurant Manager.
• Hire and train qualified staff, evaluating employee performance and providing coaching and support as needed.
• Promptly report equipment/product issues to the Restaurant Manager or General Manager.
• Prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring most important tasks are completed on time.
• Maintain knowledge of the menu, making suggestions to guests and promoting sales growth.
• Check IDs for guests appearing under 30 years of age, handling food and beverage safely and efficiently.
• Deal with complaints and problems in a positive and professional manner.
• Handle money accurately, operate a point of sale system, and manage nightly bar deposits.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, delivering orders in a timely manner and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
• Assist the Restaurant Manager with ordering supplies/alcohol, monthly inventory counts, and scheduling for the wine bar.
• Assist in ABC Audit Reporting and tracking, understanding weekly labor targets and monitoring labor during shifts and staffing.
• Support upper management in all departments, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
