Position Overview

The Logistics Transport Operator is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer (day cab/sleeper), tandem trailer, and/or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes. This role involves picking up logistics loads as well as other related food and non-food product loads, and subsequently delivering these loads back to the designated warehouse locations for inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely pick-ups and confirm that the correct products are received and loaded.
  • Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols while maintaining quality standards.
  • Report directly to a Logistics Manager/Supervisor, performing duties that may include local and/or over-the-road schedules, which may involve layovers.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of loads and associated paperwork, including product counts and quality checks.
  • Drive to assigned supplier/vendor and warehouse locations following a predetermined route and delivery schedule.
  • Maintain regular communication with the direct supervisor regarding route, load, and schedule confirmations.
  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
  • Exhibit courteous and professional behavior in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
  • Valid CDL-A.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in commercial driving.
  • Experience in the foodservice distribution industry.

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years of commercial driving experience.
