Position Overview:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Patient Service Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient experiences within the Cayuga Health System. This position encompasses a blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities, adapting to the dynamic needs of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication with outpatient clinics to arrange necessary testing and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with both outpatient and inpatient services to confirm patient information, procedural requests, and authorizations.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of provider schedules with procedural unit schedules, optimizing resource utilization.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive patient charts while managing office supply levels effectively.
  • Oversee front desk operations, providing a welcoming environment for all patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Educational background in healthcare support is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is beneficial.

Essential Skills:
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Competent in computer skills, particularly with Medent and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (90%).
  • Occasional standing (10%) and reaching (50%).
  • Some bending (20%) and lifting of up to 25 lbs.
