In this role, the HR Operations Specialist will work under general supervision to offer guidance and solutions on various human resources operational matters. This individual collaborates with management to ensure the effective delivery of HR services. Furthermore, the Specialist plays a crucial role in meeting the organization's HR needs and implementing the HR strategy efficiently. The HR Operations Specialist also acts as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster positive employee relations initiatives. Provide coaching to employees and managers on the correct interpretation and application of Company HR policies. Assist management in sustaining a positive employee relations atmosphere.
- Evaluate the internal employee environment, collaborating with managers to identify and implement strategies that enhance or maintain a positive workplace culture.
- Work alongside HR management in conducting local investigations and resolving employee issues. Conduct exit interviews and relay feedback to management. Represent the organization at unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Serve as a liaison between Talent Acquisition and management in the recruitment and selection of candidates.
- Collaborate with local managers to assess training needs. Gather data and analyze training requirements from previous and current years. Recommend training programs to support employee and management development.
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees.
- Maintain internal consistency in administering job evaluations and compensation programs. Facilitate organizational development and job evaluation processes. Assist local managers with salary and wage administration to ensure fairness and equity.
- Ensure HR operations comply with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Title VII.
- Support affirmative action initiatives. Audit and maintain current work authorizations.
- Assist in managing the leave of absence process in partnership with the corporate Leave of Absence team and management, including team member accommodations and communication.
- Assist managers with the administration of Worker's Compensation policies and procedures, taking a lead role in ensuring employees return to work promptly.
Education
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR practices, legal regulations, and compliance.
- Experience applying knowledge of state employment laws to evaluate compliance issues.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize, and track details while meeting deadlines for multiple projects.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes.
- Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking).
- Possession of PHR or SPHR certification.
