SUMMARY:
The Assistant Branch Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Branch Manager at the designated location by ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the branch. This position is essential in guaranteeing that all operational tasks are executed accurately by the team while fostering an atmosphere of trust, service, security, and satisfaction for both customers and staff. The responsibilities of the Assistant Branch Manager are dependent on the range of services provided at the branch. A solid understanding of residential mortgages, IRA services, and personal banking products is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees branch operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.
- Assists in supervising the head teller and teller personnel.
- Promotes branch identity, drives sales, and encourages accountability for enhancing customer service and branch performance.
- Delivers exceptional customer service through direct interactions with clients and prospects, adhering to company policies.
- Addresses customer inquiries in person or via phone, assisting in the resolution of issues related to bank products or services.
- Reviews and authorizes requests, including large check cashing, bank checks, and various reports and cash counts.
- Strives to meet branch performance metrics concerning operational control, teller experience, compliance, and established policies.
- Enhances knowledge of banking principles and sales techniques through ongoing training and education.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
· Experience in a supervisory role.
· Background in customer service.
· Experience with cash handling.
· Strong verbal communication skills.
· Well-organized with the capability to manage multiple responsibilities.
· Ability to collaborate effectively in small teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree.
· Previous experience in banking.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time role. Work hours are structured around the branch's operational hours:
Monday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Thursday 9:00am – 6:00pm
Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm
Sunday Closed
Employees are expected to arrive 30 minutes before the branch opens and may work 15 to 30 minutes after closing.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel using a personal vehicle may be necessary. A valid driver's license is required.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) used in the workplace is essential; bilingual skills are advantageous. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including company policies, is necessary. Candidates should be able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers and customers.
