We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Therapeutic Activities Coordinator to join our team at HealthAlliance Hospital. As a key member of our Mental Health Services department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic clinical group treatment programs using music, dance, movement, art, and other expressive modalities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized therapeutic activity schedules with input from the treatment team and patients, reflecting their needs, interests, and functioning levels.
- Provide individual and group therapeutic activities to patients while maintaining a safe environment and adhering to program schedules.
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulations and established time frames.
- Assist in the development of Individualized Treatment Plans.
- Complete documentation after each group to reflect services provided and patient progress towards meeting treatment plan goals.
- Comply with all AT, MHS, and Health Alliance policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff and team meetings, maintaining agendas for AT staff meetings.
- Responsible for scheduling activity therapists to meet daily departmental needs.
- Assist in supervising activity therapists by facilitating and mentoring team members in their responsibilities.
- Communicate Activity Therapy Departmental needs, updates, and concerns to leadership.
- Assist in the orientation process of new activity therapists.
- Maintain AT group schedules.
- Two years of experience working in the mental health field, required.
- Three years of experience working in the mental health field, preferred.
- Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy, Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), or Mental Health Counseling (MHC) from an accredited Graduate Program.
- New State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) or NYS Department of Education License or Limited Permit License to practice as an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT.
- Demonstrates experience in one or more therapeutic treatment modalities, i.e., individual, family, group, or couples' therapy, and with cases presenting difficult treatment issues.
- Excellent oral and written skills, basic computer skills, including typing, and the ability to function independently with minimal selective use of consultation.
