Job Overview

National Health Foundation is a leading organization in addressing the social determinants of health, particularly in underserved communities. We are seeking an experienced Program Coordinator - Youth & Community Engagement to join our team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that involves coordinating and executing day-to-day program tasks, including scheduling high school health education classes and workshops, communicating with schools and community organizations, and assisting with the development and implementation of youth and community programs/projects focused on education equity and built environment initiatives.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, research, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to connect with youth as a mentor and motivator. Experience working effectively with diverse communities is essential, as well as familiarity with social media platforms and fluency in English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate community advocacy group(s), including scheduling workshops, group meetings, and preparing & presenting material.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of youth and community programs/projects.
  • Participate and present at community-based education and community organizing efforts.
  • Represent NHF at coalition meetings and build relationships with external partners.
  • Coordinate and/or assist with community and youth events and grassroots campaigns.
  • Create and post relevant social media posts and/or manage social media groups and 'communities'.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health science, sociology, social work or similar field and 2-3 years of experience (internship/volunteer experience acceptable); or high school diploma or some college and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to connect with youth as a mentor and motivator.
  • Experience working effectively with diverse communities.
  • Excellent analytical, research, written and oral communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on location and experience. National Health Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including programs targeting food access, housing, the built environment, and education equity.
