St Johns Community Health is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing medical, dental and mental health services to underserved and uninsured persons in South and East Los Angeles.
Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of approximately $250,000 per year, including benefits such as free medical, dental and vision coverage, 13 paid holidays plus PTO, 403(b) retirement match, life insurance, EAP and flexible spending account.
Job DescriptionThis Physician opportunity will provide comprehensive medical services for patients aged 18 and above. The successful candidate will work a five day-work week with twice monthly Saturday shifts and no inpatient services, hospital calls or rounds.
Responsibilities- Review patient files/records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status.
- Elicit and record information about patient's medical history.
- Perform appropriate physical exams.
- Order or execute various tests, analyses and diagnostic imaging as needed given patient presentation.
- Analyze results and exam findings to make appropriate diagnoses.
- Administer or prescribe treatments.
- If required, prescribe medication, determining dosage and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
- Discuss any possible side effects to medication or immunization with patient.
- Prescribe vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases.
- Promote health by advising patients about diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease.
- Perform procedures commensurate with training.
- Refer patients to medical specialists for consultant services when appropriate.
- Document the patient's visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses and plan of action.
- Follow up with patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases.
- Be committed to the mission of St John's via clinical involvement.
- Help provide triage services and treatment services during disaster, per protocol.
- Medical Degree (MD, DO).
- Internal medicine residency graduate and board certification/eligibility.
- Familiar with electronic health records (EHR).
- Basic computer skills.
- CA Medical License, DEA Certificate.
- BLS certificate.
