J. Gibson McIlvain transcends mere material supply; our extensive architectural millwork facility offers tailored millwork solutions, encompassing everything from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and custom furniture.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Engage with specifiers (Architects, Designers, Builders, etc.) through in-person meetings, virtual sessions, and webinars.
  • Inform the market about the advantages and features of our product offerings.
  • Handle inbound inquiries and requests for quotes from customers.
  • Manage customer service and sales-related communications.
  • Conduct outbound sales and prospecting calls to support Territory Managers.
  • Process sales orders using Epicor Lumber Track Software.
  • Communicate sales order and RFQ details to customers via calls and emails.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Manager to set credit terms for clients.
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Department and Lumber Mill to authorize shipments based on customer credit terms.
  • Assist the Credit Department in discussing credit balances and arranging payments.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and enhancements.
  • Research and propose tradeshow and seminar opportunities aligned with internal objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Travel is required, approximately 50% within Florida and surrounding areas.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Relevant industry experience may substitute for a degree for the right candidate.
  • Prior experience in distribution, manufacturing, channel sales, building materials, lumber, millwork, decking and railing, construction, contracting, or outdoor living products is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • 2+ years of Inside/Outside Sales experience is preferred, ideally within the Lumber Industry and familiar with software systems similar to Epicor's Lumber Track.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculating measurements, board footage, lineal footage, and piece counts for accurate billing and data entry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn various software programs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideal candidates should reside in Florida, despite the remote nature of the position.
