Position Overview:
The Strategic Integration Department (N924) at MITRE is seeking a Financial and Budget Analyst to support our counterterrorism initiatives. This department plays a crucial role in managing and directing technical and domain-specific efforts aimed at enhancing national counterterrorism strategies. The role involves high-level collaboration with key government entities, including the National Security Council, to influence strategic planning and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses on extensive datasets across multiple departments to identify fiscal trends and anomalies.
  • Summarize financial insights for national decision-makers.
  • Innovatively present fiscal and programmatic data to clarify complex budgetary information.
  • Develop Finance Annexes for the National Counterterrorism Budget Reports, pinpointing resource gaps and shortfalls related to counterterrorism objectives.
  • Contribute to the National Strategy for Counterterrorism through detailed analysis and Financial Annexes.
  • Offer strategic recommendations on budget investments to address critical resource shortfalls.
  • Prepare budget scenarios to accommodate potential reductions or investment shifts.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses promptly in response to urgent inquiries.
  • Formulate concepts and policies to enhance data quality and standardization for future financial requests.
  • Analyze policies to identify budgetary opportunities or risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a current polygraph.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with applicable experience.
  • This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Data Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with the Congressional Budget Justification Book (CBJB), National Intelligence Programs (NIP), or Military Intelligence Programs (MIP).
  • Over 2 years of experience with government budget systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Tableau.
