About the Role:
The Strategic Integration Department (N924) within MITRE's Intelligence Center is seeking a Financial and Budget Analyst to support its counterterrorism initiatives. This department is responsible for guiding and directing specialized work aimed at enhancing national counterterrorism efforts at a strategic level. The role involves high-level collaboration with government entities, including the National Security Council and various agencies involved in counterterrorism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses on extensive datasets across multiple departments to identify fiscal anomalies and trends.
  • Summarize financial information for national decision-makers.
  • Innovatively present fiscal and programmatic data to simplify complex budgets across various agencies.
  • Develop Finance Annexes for National Counterterrorism Budget Reports, highlighting resource gaps and shortfalls related to counterterrorism missions.
  • Provide analytical support and Financial Annexes for National Strategy for Counterterrorism assessments.
  • Offer insights and recommendations on budget investments to address critical resource shortfalls.
  • Prepare budget scenarios in response to funding reductions or investment decisions.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses on short notice as required.
  • Enhance data collection quality and standardization for future financial requests.
  • Perform policy analyses to identify budgetary opportunities or risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a current polygraph.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Data Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Congressional Budget Justification Books, National Intelligence Programs, or Military Intelligence Programs.
  • Over 2 years of experience with government budget systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Tableau.
