Role Summary:
The Strategic Integration Department (N924) within MITRE's Intelligence Center is in search of a Financial and Budget Analyst to support its counterterrorism initiatives. This department is responsible for managing and directing specialized work aimed at enhancing national counterterrorism strategies and providing comprehensive solutions to related challenges. The role necessitates collaboration with senior government officials, including the National Security Council and various agencies involved in counterterrorism efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
The Financial and Budget Analyst will be tasked with providing strategic recommendations to government representatives regarding resource allocation for counterterrorism initiatives. This includes:

  • Conducting financial analyses on extensive datasets across multiple departments to identify discrepancies and fiscal trends.
  • Summarizing financial information for high-level decision-makers.
  • Innovatively presenting fiscal and programmatic data to clarify complex budgets.
  • Creating Finance Annexes for National Counterterrorism Budget Reports, highlighting resource gaps.
  • Providing analysis and Financial Annexes for National Strategy for Counterterrorism Assessments.
  • Offering insights on budget investments to address critical resource shortfalls.
  • Developing budget scenarios in response to funding reductions or investment decisions.
  • Preparing timely analyses in response to urgent inquiries.
  • Formulating concepts and policies to enhance data quality and standardization for future financial requests.
  • Conducting policy analyses to identify budgetary opportunities or risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a current polygraph.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with applicable experience.
  • This position requires on-site presence five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Data Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Congressional Budget Justification Books, National Intelligence Programs, or Military Intelligence Programs.
  • Over 2 years of experience with government budget systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Tableau.
