About the Role:

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our Risk Technology team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for building and managing a team of software engineers to develop cutting-edge software solutions that manage critical risks across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers to design, build, and deploy software solutions that meet the needs of our risk management customers.
  • Collaborate with product managers and business teams to design solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our risk management processes.
  • Build systems that adhere to the highest engineering quality standards, applying your vision and expertise to set the bar on resiliency, scalability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Partner with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and grow top talent in software engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years in people management.
  • Strong technical skills in software engineering, including experience with distributed technologies, data pipelines, and machine learning.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of software engineers.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems.
