Director of Software Engineering

Luminary Group LLC is seeking a seasoned Director of Software Engineering to spearhead our client's software development efforts in the realm of Real-World Evidence (RWE). As the Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and delivery of high-quality software solutions that harness RWE data to drive insights and decision-making in the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure the team's success.
- Software Engineering Strategy: Define and execute the software engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
- Software Development and Maintenance: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems that leverage RWE data, ensuring the quality, scalability, and performance of software solutions.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, and drive their adoption within the organization to stay ahead of the curve.
- Project Management: Prioritize and manage software development projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Software Development Standards: Establish and enforce software development standards, documentation, and coding best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and challenges, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and external service providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
- Industry Trends and Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes related to software engineering and RWE, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing solutions in the healthcare industry.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams in agile development environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
- RWE Data Experience: Experience with RWE data and familiarity with healthcare data standards.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.
- Web Application Development: Experience with web application development frameworks and technologies (e.g., Angular, React).
- Cloud-Based Platforms: Experience with cloud-based platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is preferred.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Healthcare Industry Experience: Experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of regulatory considerations in software engineering is a plus.
