Job Summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join its team in the area of Global and Rural Women's Health. This is a tenure-track or non-tenure earning faculty position that will focus on research, education, and implementation efforts in global and rural women's health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the area of women's health in the global and/or rural context, with a focus on epidemiology, behavioral science, family planning, gynecologic cancers, and reproductive health.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows within the Department.
  • Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to develop and implement research, education, and implementation efforts in global and rural women's health.
  • Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • PhD, MD, DrPH, DSc, or closely comparable degree.
  • Eligibility for licensure by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners (for physicians).
  • Strong research and teaching background in the area of women's health.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in global health research and education.
  • Strong track record of publication and presentation in the field of women's health.
  • Ability to secure external funding for research projects.
