Radiation Oncology Faculty Position

We are seeking a highly qualified medical physicist to join our faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all facets of radiation oncology physics clinical support and quality assurance at the primary center and satellite sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in radiation oncology physics clinical support and quality assurance at the primary center and satellite sites.
- Develop a clinically meaningful and scholarly rich research program for radiation oncology in collaboration with faculty within the department and investigators across the Heersink School of Medicine, UAB, and peer academic departments.
- Contribute to the training of radiation oncology and medical physics residents in our CAMPEP-accredited program.
- Collaborate with a team of 15 Ph.D. physicists and 22 radiation oncologists, assisted by a team of dosimetrists and therapists, to provide physics services for 90+ patients per day at our main campus and 80+ patients per day across our extension clinics.
- Hold a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field.
- Be certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or have completed an accredited residency and be ABR board eligible.
- Demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement.
