Job Summary

The Dispatcher/Tower Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and assisting the Operations Manager(s) to ensure that fueling operations at the location are executed safely, promptly, dependably, and cost-effectively. This role facilitates overall communication between airline operations and company fueling operations personnel.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive situational awareness of all airline and company fueling operations, policies, and procedures, ensuring continuous dissemination of relevant operational information and timely updates to appropriate field leadership and fueling staff.
  • Foster professional communication and operational coordination with airline(s), airport operations, flight control, and fueling departments regarding company operations, while consistently upholding a professional demeanor and adhering to company uniform and conduct standards.
  • Assist in the formulation of ongoing operational and contingency plans for optimal utilization of company equipment and resources in support of airline schedules.
  • Coordinate and communicate operational problem-solving strategies with company managers, supervisors, and relevant airline personnel.
  • Monitor available technological systems, including Flight Status Monitor, Weather, and Air Traffic Control advisories, evaluating their impact when recommending operational plans to support fueling operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation to anticipate potential issues, conduct post-event evaluations, and ensure timely and precise recording and submission of required paperwork and reports. Complete daily shift reports to document any flight irregularities or delays during the shift, and prepare a daily fueling delay recap to discuss with airline operations.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the emergency/significant event notification system, ensuring that appropriate company and airline regulatory officials are informed and documented accordingly.
  • While performing job duties, the employee may be required to assist in ramp and fueling operations, which can be physically demanding.

Your Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in fueling operations is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the airline industry is desirable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with the ability to learn Sabre and Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • High School Diploma along with at least a one-year certificate from a university, college, or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety, operational, and procedural manuals. Ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate before groups, including airline customers, fueling company personnel, and airport authorities.
