IT Security Specialist

Job Summary:
The IT Security Administrator role at Members 1st Federal Credit Union is a critical position that plays a key part in enhancing and supporting the overall effectiveness of the organization's information security program. This role oversees the day-to-day administration of endpoint security, content filtering, access controls, intrusion prevention systems, and security information event management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and support the overall effectiveness of the organization's information security program.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of endpoint security, content filtering, access controls, intrusion prevention systems, and security information event management solutions.
- Assist the Network Security Engineers and Analysts in detecting and disrupting potential cybersecurity incidents.
- Configure, manage, and monitor network security systems in on-premise and cloud environments to detect and respond to network security incidents.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of processes and systems in need of additional oversight and support through conducting, reviewing, and assuring the remediation of vulnerability scans.
- Assist in conducting security assessments, support audits, consult with the rest of the business on potential scam/fraud events, provide support for network security tools and services, and facilitate network security and availability monitoring activities.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in the IT Security Field.
- Applied knowledge of complex heterogeneous environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with IT and business personnel and managers.
- Proficiency with Incident Response detection, attribution, and remediation.
- Proficiency in administering information security tools, both traditional on-premise/endpoint and in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in system technology security control testing and remediation.
- Proficiency in access control processes, procedures, and systems.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls.
- High level of diagnostic and technical forensic skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
- Ability to sit for extended time periods.
- Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
