We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at Gjelina Group. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in the daily preparation and execution of food items on the line, stations, or other areas of the kitchen.
Responsibilities- Set up your stations according to guidelines and prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as directed by a supervisor and restock all items as needed throughout your shift.
- Clean and maintain your station while practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- Report to your shift on time and manage your time, including taking meal breaks in compliance with New York Labor Law.
- Flexible schedule
- Basic math skills and ability to follow recipes
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Understanding of professional cooking and knife-handling skills
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, and be organized
- Previous prep and/or line cook experience
