Facility Overview:

Wakefield stands as one of the largest manufacturing sites within Michael Foods, functioning as a flexible plant capable of producing a wide range of products, from whole pasteurized eggs to liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Position Overview:

The Inventory Clerk is essential in facilitating effective supply management operations, coordinating between production and maintenance teams to ensure optimal stock levels and timely issuance of parts. This role also supports inventory counting initiatives and ongoing improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure sufficient operational supplies in the stockroom and manage parts issuance.
• Provide insights on stock levels and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), identifying potential issues.
• Participate in inventory counting programs and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of procurement activities.
• Work with all departments to streamline requisitioning, approval, purchasing, and delivery of spare parts and consumables.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP) for inventory tracking and history.
• Be prepared for overtime and holiday shifts as required.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Follow quality work practices, comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and uphold product quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Effective reading, comprehension, and communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations.
• Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions.
• Proficiency in interpreting various documents and data entry into inventory systems.
• Computer literacy, with familiarity in Microsoft Office and SAP considered advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Certification in operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal customer interactions.
• Excellent customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
