Location Overview:

Wakefield serves as one of our largest production sites, functioning as a flexible plant capable of producing a variety of products, including whole pasteurized eggs, liquid and dried eggs, hardboiled eggs, and curds.

Position Overview:

The Inventory Clerk is essential for maintaining efficient supply management operations. This role involves coordinating activities between various departments to ensure sufficient stock levels and timely issuance of parts. Additionally, the Inventory Clerk will support cycle counting initiatives and ongoing improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure adequate supplies are available in the stockroom and parts are issued as required.
  • Provide insights on stock levels and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), identifying potential issues proactively.
  • Participate in cycle counting programs and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of procurement activities.
  • Work with all departments to streamline requisitioning, approval, purchasing, and delivery processes for spare parts and consumables.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP) for inventory tracking and history.
  • Be prepared to work overtime and during holidays as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Follow quality assurance practices, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), to uphold product quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Effective reading, comprehension, and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations.
  • Ability to follow instructions with common sense understanding.
  • Proficiency in interpreting various documents and entering data into inventory systems.
  • Computer literacy, with familiarity in Microsoft Office and SAP being advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification for operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal customer interactions.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
