Overtime compensation is provided at a rate of time and a half.

A prominent leader in the manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Specialist for their facility in Charleston, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to drive continuous enhancements in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair low to medium voltage systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on motor drive systems, specifically within Siemens and Rockwell product lines.
  • Utilize PLC interfaces for diagnostic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Support the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate in the creation and review of operational and safety Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for plant equipment; enhance procedures and develop new JSAs based on insights and experiences.

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrate the Target Behaviors to support departmental objectives.
  • An associate degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology, military-equivalent electronics training and certification, or a high school diploma with 3+ years of relevant electronic maintenance and repair experience.
  • Capable of performing all physical tasks associated with a manufacturing environment, including climbing, standing, bending, reaching, and squatting. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical machinery in potentially hot environments.
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify electrical issues, minimizing downtime and enhancing production efficiency.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E / NEC safety standards.
  • A strong commitment to a zero-incident safety culture, active teamwork, and continuous improvement while embodying corporate Target Behaviors.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electronic and electrical schematics and specifications.
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to three years of experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly with automation, calibrated instrumentation, and electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Knowledge of PLC logic, industrial automation and control systems, in-line measurement systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex issues with technical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Capable of safely operating a forklift and aerial lift as needed.
