Position Overview

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a dedicated Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to deliver exceptional clinical services within our outpatient pediatric psychiatry program. This role is essential in providing mental health support to children and adolescents, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations both in-person and through telehealth, diagnosing a range of mental health disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in partnership with patients and their families.
  • Engage in educational initiatives, mentoring medical students and trainees in psychiatric practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts to assess and enhance service delivery and patient care standards.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a current license as an Advanced Practice Nurse specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health in Texas. A Master's degree from an accredited nursing program is required, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and build effective relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have three or more years of experience in a clinical setting, proficiency with electronic medical records, and the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.
