Job Summary

The Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department at Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Principal RF Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating cutting-edge RF/Microwave systems and subsystems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transmitters, receivers, or exciters, leveraging your expertise in RF circuit design and optimization.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of power, digital, mechanical, and other components.
  • Utilize schematic capture and RF routing tools to bring your designs to life.
  • Transition your designs to production, ensuring smooth handovers and minimal disruptions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years' experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Proven experience in Microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test.
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, with U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome complex technical challenges.
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations.
  • Technical background in areas such as cascade analysis and/or frequency planning, filter design and fabrication, circuit card assembly and fabrication, high-speed data converter test/characterization, or low-noise RF source design and test experience.
