Job Title: Senior Principal RF Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal RF Design Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Receiver, Exciter, and Back-End Processing (REBEP) Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architecture development, requirements analysis, and hardware design
  • Hands-on testing of components, circuit card assemblies, and subsystems
  • Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters
  • Design and optimization of RF circuits
  • Working with interdisciplinary teams, including power, digital, mechanical, and other departments
  • Schematic capture and RF routing
  • Technical support during the transition to production and support to production activities
  • Cost and schedule management, as well as proposal writing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of prior work experience
  • Experience with Microwave/RF system, subsystem, and/or component analysis, design, and/or test
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, CST, and/or Mentor Graphics' Xpedition) and analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required, and U.S. citizenship is required for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience translating system performance and operation specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications
  • Background in designing for manufacturability, producibility, and cost constraints, including yield and margin analysis
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Experience in technical writing and oral presentations
  • Technical background in any of the following areas: Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning, Filter design and fabrication, Circuit card assembly and fabrication, High-speed data converter test/characterization, Low Noise RF source design and test experience
