Overview:

The Campaign Strategist provides leadership, direction, and project management for all aspects of Newfields special project, strategic initiative, and campaign fundraising efforts.

Campaign preparation will include working with senior leaders to identify and prioritize fundraising priorities, working with the Donor Engagement team to develop a draft case for support, and working with the Philanthropy team on donor pipeline assessment.

The Campaign Strategist will also be responsible for completing a fundraising feasibility study and supporting the assembly of the next campaign cabinet.

As the lead on an interim fundraising initiative, the Campaign Strategist will work with colleagues throughout Newfields to prioritize fundraising needs, work with Philanthropy Officers to develop fundraising strategies, and work with the Donor Engagement team to develop communications tools needed to market priorities as gift opportunities.

With the launch of the next official campaign, the Campaign Strategist will work closely with several members of the Advancement team to ensure that processes for prospect management, proposal development, gift documentation, donor stewardship, campaign communications, and event planning are optimized and moving forward.

This position also designs, tracks, and monitors the effectiveness of campaign strategies; helps to develop content for campaign cabinet meetings; plays a key role in developing campaign communications strategies and mentoring team members in case development; develops and manages the campaign budget; and maintains accurate reports on campaign solicitations and overall progress.

The Campaign Strategist also engages and supports the Campaign Cabinet, Advancement Committee, and Newfields Board of Trustees, facilitating effective volunteer participation in campaign prospect cultivation and solicitation.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Direct and implement all functions of campaign and fundraising initiatives and serve as primary project manager for all campaign-related activities.
  2. Maintain timelines and track milestones.
  3. Work with Advancement team to develop and track donor strategies related to campaign and special project proposals, including communications, cultivation, and solicitation plans.
  4. Work with the Donor Engagement team to develop storytelling documents and related solicitation materials for campaign priorities and fundraising initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with communications team to develop and implement communications strategies to share gift opportunities and stories of impact through Newfields channels, such as the website, social media, member e-news, etc.
  6. Draft proposals, cover letters, and other donor correspondence to facilitate campaign gifts.
  7. With the VP for Advancement, manage Advancement Committee and Campaign Cabinet meetings.
  8. Work with the Advancement Services team to conduct research and prepare briefings to prepare Campaign Cabinet members and Newfields leadership in advance of donor visits.
  9. Prepare high-level presentations related to the campaign for the Vice President for Advancement, Campaign Cabinet leadership and other Newfields leadership as needed.
  10. Work with Advancement Services team to develop and improve campaign reporting and portfolio management systems.
  11. Work with Director of Member and Donor Engagement to design and execute campaign events and integrate campaign and fundraising initiative messaging into donor communications strategy.
  12. Work with Executive Assistant for Advancement and Database Specialist to ensure gift documentation and stewardship activities are completed thoroughly and accurately.
  13. Prepare and update campaign budget, working with colleagues in Advancement and Finance.
