Neurology Opportunity in Colorado Springs

Job Summary:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Neurologist to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a Neurologist with our organization, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and contribute to the development of a Neurology clinic that serves the southern Colorado market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Further the Neurology Program: Provide evaluation and treatment for patients seen in the neurology outpatient clinic, and consultation for inpatient services if assigned.
- Provide Patient Care: Attend in the outpatient clinic, and in some cases on the inpatient consult service, and other clinical services covered by the Neurology Section. These clinical responsibilities may include patient care activities with or without trainees.
- Teach and Mentor: Teach medical students, interns, and residents, and fellows in Neurology. Participate in the educational activities of the Division of Neurology, University of Colorado Denver.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned, including Neurology Section meetings.
- Provide Expert Consultation and Treatment: Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Neurology, and in some cases the inpatient wards and emergency department.
- Coordinate Medical Management and Care: Coordinate medical management and care within their discipline with Primary Care providers and other Medical/Surgical services and personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
- Provide On-Call Services: Provide on-call services for the Neurology section as assigned. Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation.
- Monitor Quality and Safety: Participate in monitoring the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to peer reviews, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE), special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Medicine/Chief of Staff/ELT.
- Participate in Educational Programs: Participate in the educational programs for section personnel as well as the medical staff.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen (Non-Citizen May Be Considered IAW VA Policy)
- Must have current, active & unencumbered US State Medical License (any State)
- Must be BE/BC in neurology
