Position Overview

The Civil Rights Investigator will be integral to the university's educational, preventive, and responsive initiatives in accordance with Title VII, Title VI, Title IX, and related regulations.

Key Responsibilities
The Civil Rights Investigator will report directly to the Title IX Coordinator and the Associate to the Chancellor for Institutional Equity and Compliance. The role encompasses:
  • Development and execution of policies and procedures.
  • Providing education and training for the university community.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into complaints of discrimination and harassment.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of demonstrated experience in understanding civil rights statutes and due process related to employment, educational programs, or student conduct resolution.
  • Experience in conducting investigations, including interviewing individuals and assessing information for relevance.

Preferred:
  • Graduate or professional degree in a related discipline.
  • More than two years of relevant experience, particularly in higher education or governmental agencies.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding the experiences of marginalized individuals.
