Position Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for delivering essential care to patients and assisting them with daily living activities under the guidance of a licensed nursing professional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Assist patients with personal activities such as dressing, toileting, and transferring between beds and wheelchairs.
  • Report any changes in patients' health or behavior to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and mental health specialists, to support and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and communal areas.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform additional clinical tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with patients and their families.
  • Physical capability to lift and move patients and to stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and manage sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification.
  • Preferred experience in behavioral health care.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and strong computer skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to twist, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and transfer individuals of varying weights.
