Position Overview

The Accounting Supervisor II is responsible for overseeing and managing financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial documentation and reporting for Michigan State University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough research and verification of financial reports to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Establishes and enforces accounting controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepares and evaluates general ledger entries, ensuring departmental records are reconciled accurately.
  • Contributes to the development of financial policies and procedures within the organization.
  • Monitors overdue accounts to enhance collection effectiveness.
Essential Qualifications:

Possession of knowledge typically gained through a four-year degree in Accounting; three to five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting practices and the establishment of financial controls, policies, and procedures; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) may be required.
