Position Summary

Eastgate Kids is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Caregiver to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Child Care Educator to provide nurturing care for young children. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and well-being of the children while promptly addressing any emergencies that may arise.

As an Early Childhood Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and enriching learning atmosphere. You will also assist in the design and execution of various educational programs aimed at promoting child development. Additionally, maintaining a clean and hygienic learning environment will be part of your daily tasks.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess relevant experience in childcare or a similar educational setting. Familiarity with child development principles and basic first aid skills is essential. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, creative, and exhibit patience in their interactions with children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and supervising children consistently
  • Collaborating with the Lead Child Care Educator on daily activities
  • Assisting children during meal and snack times
  • Welcoming parents and providing updates on their child's progress
  • Overseeing children during outdoor playtime
  • Reporting any incidents or emergencies to the Lead Child Care Educator
  • Creating a positive and secure learning environment for all children
  • Supporting the development of educational programs that encourage holistic growth
  • Adhering to legal standards and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Engaging in parent-teacher discussions and offering constructive feedback
  • Recognizing and responding to the diverse developmental and behavioral needs of children
  • Ensuring the learning space is clean and safe consistently
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or a Bachelor's degree in any relevant field
  • Certification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated experience as a Childcare Assistant, Child Care Provider, or in a similar capacity within a Child Care Facility or Pre-primary School
  • Basic first aid training and knowledge
  • Understanding of various child development strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and active listening skills
  • Effective time management and organizational capabilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exhibiting high levels of motivation and patience
