About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner to join our Business Technology team at Appian Corporation. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and delivering high-quality software products that meet the needs of our internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure timely delivery of features and functionalities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and design, to define product requirements and ensure successful implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our users and stakeholders, and advocate for their needs throughout the product development process.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on product features to ensure they meet business needs.
  • Manage the release and sprint backlog, ensuring that all tasks are properly planned, groomed, and executed.
  • Write clear and concise specifications for stakeholders to review and provide feedback on.
  • Translate requirements into Epics, User Stories, or Tasks in Jira, with defined Acceptance Criteria.
  • Coordinate rollout plans, user enablement, and follow-up to analyze adoption of features.
  • Work with stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure successful product delivery.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner role in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and execute to accomplish amazing things.
  • Ability to draw clarity out of complex and ever-changing environments, comfortable working through ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to reach workable solutions.
  • Ownership mentality, with the character to act with integrity for the best interests of the entire organization.
