Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Center Support Assistant to join our team at Cen-Tex Family Services. In this role, you will provide critical support to our Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing individual and group activities to promote language development, literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, social and emotional development, and physical development.
  • Provide meals and snacks to children, adhering to their age, development, and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily attendance and meal counts.
  • Assist teachers in recording observations, assessments, and other required documentation for each child's records.
  • Promote parent involvement in the child's education and well-being.
  • Support families in accessing health and dental services, and other child/family services identified through ongoing case management.
  • Assist with maintaining a system of follow-up with families on referrals to community agencies to ensure satisfactory provision of services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children and families in a educational or social services setting preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
