Job Description

As an Educational Assistant I-II-III, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in a correctional setting. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with instructional activities, maintaining student discipline, and providing extra support to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers with instructional activities, including preparing materials and presenting subject matter to students.
  • Maintain student discipline and ensure compliance with classroom and school rules.
  • Provide extra support to students with special needs, including tutoring and assisting with academic assessments.
  • Administer student tests and compile data for student progress reviews.
  • Perform a variety of related duties, including maintaining student records and assisting with clerical operations.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Texas Education Agency (TEA) certification as an Educational Aide I-II-III.
  • One (1) year of full-time wage-earning experience in child care work or training in a child-related field.
Working Conditions:

The Educational Assistant I-II-III position requires working in a correctional setting with potentially aggressive/combative youth. The position also requires the ability to work effectively and patiently with youth, as well as communicate clearly and effectively to direct the activities of youth.
