Job Title: Charging Systems Engineer

Navistar is seeking a skilled Charging Systems Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the ePowertrain team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating an overall electric vehicle charging strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with other Navistar engineers to design and implement charging features and functions.
  • Develop system requirements that are consistent with relevant industry charging standards.
  • Oversee the implementation and verification of charging features and functions.
  • Manage the charging system, including charge port, charge indicator, charging system software, EVCC software, energy storage systems, high voltage distribution, and torque safety system.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact from the ePowertrain team to other Navistar interfaces and suppliers.
  • Participate in industry-wide charging events to improve charging interoperability and user experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • At least 5 years of experience in product design/development.
  • OR Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product design/development.
  • OR PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience working in a rapid-prototyping and development environment.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, Vector Tools, C++, INCA, and requirements tools such as Polarion or DOORS.
  • Holistic EV experience, including HV Powertrains, Energy Management, and Charging Systems.
  • Relentless problem-solving skills and willingness to work hands-on.
