About the Role:
In this position, you will provide essential advocacy support to First Nations individuals who are at risk of or currently on compulsory treatment orders. Your role will involve helping clients understand and exercise their rights to facilitate their treatment, care, and recovery. Additionally, you will offer expert guidance to staff on effectively engaging with First Nations communities.

This role requires close collaboration with IMHA advocates across the state and various stakeholders, including legal aid staff, community engagement officers, and representatives from Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.

The Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) program is a non-legal advocacy initiative led by professionals with lived experience in mental health and backgrounds in community development, advocacy, and social work.
