The Compensation Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the precise and prompt execution of payroll for employees within the organization. This position entails overseeing payroll information, maintaining comprehensive records, and resolving any inquiries related to payroll. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Human Resources department to ensure adherence to company protocols, legal requirements, and industry benchmarks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the printing of timesheets, sick leave, and other payroll communications.
- Input weekly timesheet and sick leave data.
- Process weekly certified payroll submissions to relevant tracking systems.
- Enter new employee details into the payroll system.
- Maintain organized filing systems.
- Conduct employment verifications.
- Prepare monthly utilization reports.
- Update employee information as necessary.
- Compile monthly union reports.
- Scan and attach employee documentation and timesheets.
- Assist the security department with unemployment claim questionnaires.
- Support fellow payroll staff with various projects.
- Provide coverage during vacations and other absences.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Excel with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, both in-person and via communication channels.
- Basic understanding of payroll processes.
- Experience with union payroll is preferred.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Office environment with standard business hours.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary during payroll cycles.
