About the Opportunity

The Security Solutions Architect (Palo Alto) position necessitates profound experience with Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, and Global Protect, complemented by a solid background in networking. Familiarity with Palo Alto Prisma Access and Zero Trust Network Access is highly advantageous.

A Security Solutions Architect is tasked with delivering architectural, technical, and problem-solving support for the network and security infrastructure that ensures a secure and scalable environment, aligning with the security needs of our clientele.

This role also emphasizes both immediate and long-term strategies, recommending technological solutions and enhancements to network and security environments. The architect is responsible for providing clear, concise, and timely communications that foster confidence in our team's capability to achieve operational excellence. Responsibilities include Tier III "Build and Run" activities across diverse network and security environments, along with reviewing and suggesting configuration modifications as necessary.

Daily tasks encompass the design, implementation, operation, troubleshooting, and resolution across multiple domains. Participation in system upgrades, deployments, and enhancements may be required, with a focus on delivery objectives, critical issues, and adherence to policies. Team members may occasionally work after hours to support system outages and critical infrastructure upgrades. An on-site presence may also be necessary on certain days.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience (required)

Experience:

  • 15+ years of relevant technical Network/Security Engineering experience (required)
  • Certifications: A preference for three or more of the following: CCNP, CCDP, CCSP, CISSP, OSCP, PCNSE, PCNSA, ITIL

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewall models (e.g., 3200 and 5200/5400 series)
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Panorama 9.x and later
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Global Protect
  • In-depth knowledge of decryption/TLS/Security Profiles/PKI and a comprehensive understanding of PCAPS
  • Significant experience with application-based traffic and designing Firewall solutions (Internal/Perimeter/External)
  • Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Access infrastructure, supporting multiple Data Centers and numerous offices

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Support for vendor hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and others
  • Expertise in Data Center, WAN, LAN, WLAN, Firewall, and Load Balancer systems
  • Proficiency in analysis and forensic tools, along with effective troubleshooting of ingress/egress and zoned traffic
  • Understanding of Azure Infrastructure, including Azure VNET's, Routing, and Firewalling
  • Experience implementing ZTNA with knowledge of all integration points of the ZT pillars such as endpoint, identity, and workloads
  • Ability to develop ZT security policies that incorporate telemetry from identity systems, endpoints, and external management systems
  • Experience in whitelisting IP space for various project teams to ensure secure connectivity
  • Capability to create Zones and Policies for different network segments and troubleshoot connectivity across Security Zones
  • Collaboration with internal applications teams to design and implement an effective ZTNA program with PA Prisma Access
  • Development of documentation detailing design, security controls, and operational manuals
  • Participation in internal and external testing of applicable applications to ensure adequate security measures are in place
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for business users
