Position Overview
The LPN for Resident Care is responsible for delivering exceptional assisted living services through effective communication and personalized care, aimed at enhancing the residents' abilities while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards. This role reports directly to the Resident Care Director.
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from an accredited institution
- Active LPN license in good standing throughout employment
- Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year experience in senior care services
- CPR certification required upon hire, or to be obtained during orientation, and must remain current
- Current First Aid certification as mandated by state regulations
- Manage the medication program, ensuring accuracy in medication assistance records (MARs) and providing direct medication support to residents
- Administer treatments as per physician directives
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and blood sugar levels
- Document pertinent information regarding residents' health
- Communicate changes in residents' conditions to physicians
- Receive and transcribe physician orders accurately
- Assist residents with daily living activities
- Order and manage medication supplies from designated pharmacies as necessary
- Respond promptly to resident requests and call lights
- Provide shift reports to incoming staff
- Support the Resident Care Director with supervisory tasks
- Assist in training and guiding the resident care team
- Help in scheduling departmental hours effectively
- Act as a positive role model for peers
- Show respect and professionalism towards all associates
- Expertise in nursing practices and principles
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
- Knowledgeable about nursing regulations and guidelines in assisted living settings
- Capability to implement and interpret departmental policies and objectives
- Proficient in all relevant competency areas
- Maintain professional relationships with all staff and vendors
- Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information
- Adhere to company policies, including those regarding harassment and compliance
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Ethics and completing all required training
