Accounting Assistant Job Description

SABA North America is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review operational A/P reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Payables reconciliation, invoice to PO/pack list with journaling and invoice entry into the accounting system.
  • Daily filing of accounting documents, including A/R, A/P, and miscellaneous files.
  • Operate computers programmed with ERP accounting software to record, store, and analyze information daily.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Classify records and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts in computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile employees' expenses and enter them into the accounting system.
  • Enter customer check payments into the accounting system and prepare banking deposits.
  • Manage and reconcile monthly petty cash.
  • Auto AR invoicing is performed daily with most invoices going out via Baan email outbox.
  • Monitor AR customers' SAS expiring limits for yearly renewal.
  • Establish credit insurance with Dinxperlo for new customers.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.
  • Associate Degree in Accounting: Preferred.
  • 5 plus years of experience in Back Office Accounting Support: Required.
  • 3 plus years of Accounts Payable experience required.
