This position is well-suited for a mid-level, sales-oriented, collaborative professional.
The role involves close collaboration with a Managing Director to strengthen VRC's footprint in the San Francisco Bay Area and the wider west coast market.
Success in revenue generation and client satisfaction is achieved through teamwork with support teams, alignment with marketing initiatives, nurturing strong networking relationships, and consistently embodying VRC's culture and values.
What you will do:
- Drive business development for valuation services related to M&A, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and restructurings, including the valuation of private investment positions.
- Establish new client connections while maintaining existing relationships.
- Collaborate with the valuation engagement team to ensure the effective execution of various valuation-related assignments, including M&A, fair value assessments, fairness opinions, and other valuation support.
- Create marketing materials, presentations, and meeting documentation.
- Conduct market analysis to identify target companies and key decision-makers.
- Track M&A trends and activities within the designated territory and monitor developments at target companies.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline with documented activities using VRC's CRM system.
- Cultivate a thorough understanding of VRC's service offerings.
- Participate in networking and professional events.
- Oversee the proposal submission process.
What you will need:
- A minimum of 2-5 years of proven business development experience.
- An MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with internal teams on time-sensitive projects.
- A strong work ethic and flexibility to work around critical deadlines.
- A broad understanding of finance.
- Experience interacting with private equity firms, asset managers, and corporate accounting personnel.
- Familiarity with private equity and/or investment banking is advantageous.
- A general understanding of valuation and/or financial reporting is also beneficial.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
