The Credentialing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes for healthcare providers. This position is essential for ensuring that all medical professionals meet the necessary qualifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications for provider enrollment, ensuring timely follow-up and monitoring of application statuses.
  • Facilitate the initial appointment and reappointment processes for provider privileges.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all provider-related information.
  • Assist in covering the responsibilities of the credentialing administrative assistant as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least two years of experience in credentialing is preferred.
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel between various office locations as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and credentialing software is necessary.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and external stakeholders.
