Position Overview:
The Aims Community College is seeking a dedicated individual to fulfill the role of an adjunct faculty member in the Paramedic program. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality education and fostering an environment that aligns with our Mission, Vision, and Values, including JEDI principles (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) and Innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
The faculty member will be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging and effective instruction in both classroom and practical skill lab settings, utilizing student-centered learning methodologies.
- Organizing and supervising Paramedic laboratory sessions, ensuring a high standard of educational delivery.
- Creating and maintaining course materials in an online learning management system.
- Timely submission of grades and course syllabi, while maintaining accurate records of attendance and academic performance.
- Teaching at various times, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Ensuring compliance with external regulatory standards.
- Assisting in the upkeep and management of Paramedic instructional equipment utilized on and off campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare discipline from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current certification as a Paramedic in Colorado.
- A minimum of two years of experience in emergency medical services, with a solid understanding of hospital and EMS protocols.
- Completion of a course in adult education or demonstrated experience in teaching adults.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Eligibility for a full-time, post-secondary vocational credential in Health Science Technology from Aims Community College.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in a community college teaching environment, including curriculum development and alternative instructional methods.
- Experience in clinical and laboratory instruction.
