Key Responsibilities- Create and develop 2D deliverables, including technical drawings and specifications
- Develop 3D models of systems and components, utilizing core competencies in marine engineering
- Solve technical issues under the guidance of department supervision, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Plan, estimate, schedule, and monitor assigned work, tracking progress and reporting to commitments
- Oversee the work status of assigned resources, facilitating communication and issue resolution within the department
- Prepare, check, and issue professional-quality deliverables, adhering to organizational policies and procedures
- Interpret contract requirements, developing contract change documents to support project needs
- Associate's Degree (2 Year Degree) in a marine field of competence (or equivalent) or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of equivalent marine/shipbuilding design experience
- User experience of primary design tools (AutoCAD 2D/3D, 3D ShipConstructor desirable)
- 2-5 years of experience of increasing responsibility in the marine field of competence
- Six Sigma or LEAN training desired
- Technological skills, proven by verifiable and specific work experience, technical publication, or patent issue
- Working knowledge of standard shipbuilding rules and regulations, as well as the associated regulatory agencies and review approval process
- Current computer skills relevant to the field of competence
- Ability to work within schedule and budget restraints
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Basic Earned Value Management System competency desirable
- Ability to obtain and hold level of Secret Clearance or meet the requirements to gain a Secret Clearance
