Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional diabetes self-management education and medical nutrition therapy to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical, psychosocial, and educational history.
  • Develop and implement personalized teaching plans, educational interventions, and follow-up plans based on current program curriculum and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Collaborate with patients and their families to establish mutual learning goals and behavior change goals.
  • Evaluate outcomes and revise interventions and follow-up plans as needed.
  • Communicate education and follow-up recommendations to physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Bill third-party payers for diabetes outpatient self-management and training and medical nutrition therapy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in clinical specialty.
  • Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a registered dietitian.
  • Previous diabetes education experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate and work cohesively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of current developments, trends, and techniques in nutrition therapy and diabetes management.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to travel locally, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple tasks with established time constraints. The ideal candidate will be resilient, flexible, and able to cooperate and work well with others.
