Job Summary

The University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician, Anesthesia to join our team at Ryan Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to small animals, including inpatient, outpatient, critical, and non-critical cases
  • Review medical history and develop an appropriate anesthetic protocol for each patient
  • Place IV catheters, perform physical exams, and induce, maintain, and recover animals
  • Oversee recovery of animals and indicate when they are able to return to their ward or be discharged
  • Set up equipment for cases, communicate with clinicians, and maintain the daily schedule
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) certification and 0-1 year of experience in anesthesia. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
