Job Summary

Geographic Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the company's financial reporting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, financial planning, and financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, leadership, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to ensure the company's financial goals are met.
  • Oversee the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Lead the payroll process, including bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, benefit deductions, and 401K administration.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls to ensure the company's assets are safeguarded and transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Train and assess the finance team, conducting training and development programs to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Design and develop policies and procedures within the finance team and across the organization.
  • Ensure the company's financial statements are presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Implement ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standards under FASB for all contracts.
  • Oversee the accrual method of all general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Prepare and review account analyses, including prepaid expenses, deferred revenues, deferred costs, intangibles, fixed assets, etc.
  • Oversee the annual financial statement audit.
  • Manage the accounts payable team.
  • Review and process payroll liabilities.
  • Act as liaison between Geographic Solutions Inc. and payroll processing company.
  • Assist in shared services as needed within the finance team.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis to develop forecasts, projections, and budgets.
  • Perform variance analysis on key accounts.
  • Help drive and assist financial reporting on KPIs with Sr. Data Analyst.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA is desired, but not required.
  • Experience working in a technology company with ASC 606 is desired, but not required.
  • 7-10 years of related experience preferably as a controller, director, or manager in a finance function.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Must be a leader and a driver who can keep up with a fast-growing company.
